Failure Is an Option
As not many of you people know, this blog site is a genius hour project; meaning that this site was created as a result of Genius Hour, a whole hour in school dedicated to chasing your own passions. CNN had done a report about this more than a year ago, but better late than never. Basically, CNN said that students in Genius Hour are able to chase their passions without worry about failure, and being able to learn from it. I'm not sure if I can see entirely from that viewpoint, even if I was some all knowing deity. Yeah, yeah, some platitude about learning from failure and what not. The way I see it is that Genius Hour is a way to help people find their passions and letting them indulge themselves in it and (hopefully) making a career about what they love.
Take me for example. I hope to be an author and I made this page in order to spread the joys and pains (mostly the pains) of being a writer. I am giving advice to all kinds of authors that stumble across this page, and through the process of blogging, I am also finding more and more about different methods of writing and character development. By making additional posts on this blog, I am also learning more and creating my own writing style.
To me, Genius Hour is not about the failure and learning from it. It is about indulging yourself in a passion, learning along the way, and making a career about what you love to do.
